At the corner Store ~By n.b. caballero

From afar, there, there, there it is,

unmoved, unchanged.

Never leaping ahead.

Years may pass the corner store,

but it never visits or enters.

No change, unmoved, unchanged.

Next door, attached,

there it is,

it moves ahead, it soars.

Time arrived next door.

But there it is, unmoved,

unchanged—the corner store.

Time moved; twenty years

ago not to be moved,

a permanent resident.

I’ve moved; I’m back,

and there it is—

La Bodega—the corner store.

Way to acknowledge the bodega corner stores. They support the hoods!
